How We Build

One Team for the Whole Backyard.

Custom pools in Rock Hill, SC start with a property, not a catalog. Before we recommend a pool type, Aaron Van Riper or a member of our team walks the yard, looks at the grade, the access for equipment, the drainage and any neighborhood guidelines, and asks how you plan to use the space. A family that wants a shallow ledge for small children needs a different pool than a couple who wants a quiet spa and a view.

From that visit we put together a design and an itemized proposal with a realistic schedule. Once you approve it, our crew handles the build itself: excavation, the pool structure, plumbing, equipment, coping, decking and the final start up. You deal with one company from the first conversation to the walkthrough, and nothing is left for you to coordinate between separate contractors.

That approach is why homeowners searching for inground pool builders near Rock Hill end up with a finished backyard rather than a hole with water in it. The pool, the features and the surrounding hardscape are planned together, so they fit together.

Our Pools

Choose Your Build.

Every pool type below has its strengths. Read through the one that interests you, or start with a conversation and we will help you weigh them against your yard, your budget and your timeline.

  • A fiberglass pool is the fastest way to a finished inground pool, because the shell arrives ready and goes in once the ground is dug.

  • A vinyl liner pool is the most budget flexible way to a full size, custom shaped inground pool.

  • A shotcrete pool is formed by hand on your property, so its shape, depth and features answer to your yard and nothing else.

  • A spa adds year round warmth to a backyard, whether it spills into a new pool, stands alone or arrives as a hot tub. We design and install all three around Rock Hill and Charlotte.

  • Tanning ledges, waterfalls, scuppers, bubblers, LED laminars and lighting turn a pool into the place everyone gathers.

  • The deck and coping frame the pool and carry every footstep around it, so we design and build them as part of the project.

Choosing a Pool

Fiberglass, Vinyl or Shotcrete?

Fiberglass pools arrive as a finished shell, so the build moves quickly once excavation starts and the smooth gel coat surface needs less upkeep than most. The tradeoff is that shape and size are set by the models available, though those models cover a wide range, many with built in benches, steps and tanning ledges. It is a strong fit for homeowners who want to swim soon and spend their weekends using the pool, not maintaining it.

Vinyl liner pools are the most budget flexible route into a full size inground pool. The structure is built on site, then fitted with a liner in the pattern you choose, which gives you more freedom of shape than fiberglass at a lower starting cost. Liners are replaced over the life of the pool, typically every 8 to 12 years in our climate, which is worth factoring into the long view.

Shotcrete and gunite pools are formed by hand on your property, so there is no limit on shape, depth or integrated features beyond what your lot allows. They take the longest to build because of curing and finish work, and they carry the highest starting cost, but they are the choice when the pool needs to wrap around a slope, include an attached spa or match the architecture of the house exactly.

What It Costs

How Pool Pricing Works.

Cost depends on the pool type, the size, the site and everything that surrounds the water. As a guide, our fiberglass projects typically start around $55,000 for the pool, a standard pump and filter, plumbing, the gravel base and the set and backfill. A more complete backyard with an upgraded equipment package, a salt system, LED lighting, coping and several hundred square feet of decking typically runs from about $70,000 to $85,000.

Fully custom projects, including a pool and spa combination, custom decking, water features and a complete backyard design, typically start around $90,000. Site conditions can move any of these numbers, which is why we price from a visit to your property rather than from a phone call.

What matters most is comparing like with like. Two quotes can look far apart simply because one leaves out the decking, the fencing or the equipment. Our proposals are itemized, so you can see exactly what is included before you commit, and if you would rather spread the cost over time, our financing page explains how pool loans generally work.

Questions

Before You Start.

What type of pool is best for my property?

It depends on your budget, the space you have, the look you want and how much maintenance you are willing to take on. Fiberglass is fastest with the least upkeep, vinyl liner is the most budget flexible and shotcrete offers complete design freedom. We walk the property with you and explain the tradeoffs for your specific yard before recommending one.

How long does an inground pool take to install?

Timelines vary with the pool type, the site, the weather and the features you add. Fiberglass typically moves fastest once excavation starts, while vinyl liner and shotcrete pools take longer because of the structure, curing and finish work. You receive a realistic schedule with your proposal, and we keep you updated as the build progresses.

Can I customize the design?

Yes. Within each pool type you can choose the shape, size and finish, and add tanning ledges, steps, benches, spas, waterfalls, scuppers, bubblers, lighting and more. Shotcrete pools allow the most freedom because they are formed on site, but fiberglass and vinyl liner pools can still be tailored to your yard and the way you want to use it.

Do you handle the decking and equipment too?

Yes. We install the pump, filter and other equipment, including salt systems, and we build the coping and decking around the pool, from standard concrete to cool deck finishes and overlays. Keeping it all with one team means the pool and the hardscape are designed together, and you have a single point of contact from start to finish.

How do I take care of my new pool?

Routine care comes down to keeping the water chemistry balanced, cleaning the pool, looking after the filtration system and checking the equipment regularly. At the final walkthrough we show you how your equipment works and what to watch for, and our team remains reachable after the job is done if a question comes up later.
